ABOUT JO
At 50, with my youngest having just left home and having recently returned to England after six years overseas, I find myself in this same place of transformation and transition. And I’ll be honest, I feel a little unsteady and am feeling this shift deeply. But, I’m also full of curiosity and a growing desire to live in a way that reflects and supports the deepest, truest version of me. A life where I’m the main character of my days. A life where I reconnect with goals, dreams, and interests that I’ve put aside.
And, I’m grateful that as a certified Yoga Teacher and Life Coach, I have tools at hand to help support me in this. Tools I’d love to share with you, as you move through your own midlife transition. I think that as women, we thrive when we support each other and work together. That’s why I’ve created this site, to share as many tools as possible and help others create new chapters that feature them as the main character.

WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT ME?
Here are some quick facts to help us get to know each other better…
I am a lover of all things cosy - oversized jumpers, fluffy socks, blankets on the sofa, etc. If it’s a rainy day, even better.
I have a herbal tea obsession… and when I say obsession, I mean I have a drawer that is dedicated purely to herbal teas!
I’m English, married to a lovely New Zealander I met in Hong Kong, and have 3 grown children.
I’m a sociable introvert - and very happy to be one.
I have lived in 7 different countries (so far) and too many houses to count!
I left school at 17 but have never stopped learning. I’m a qualified Yoga Teacher and Life Coach, and over the years have also studied: Maternal Mental Health & Wellbeing, Baby Massage, Menstrual Cycle Leadership with Alexandra Pope, English Literature, Creative Writing, Journalism, and Bibliotherapy. (As you can see, my interests lie firmly in the world of WELLBEING + WRITING/LITERATURE - giving me a wealth of tools to help others)
I’m a bookaholic - when I was in early labour with my second child, I paced the floor for several hours while reading The Pelican Brief; both to keep contractions going and to make sure I finished it before she was born!
I was once Enya’s hand double in a music video.
I have chronic headaches, which can make life challenging, and also have a bunch of food allergies - thankfully, not chocolate! Or herbal tea!
If I’m at a party, you’ll find me nosing around the host’s bookshelf or cuddling their dog/cat.
My ideal day involves time on my yoga mat, a walk in the woods or by water, a bookshop visit, and then hot chocolate and sofa snuggles.
I also love Autumn, Christmas, the smell of rain, welly walks, National Trust houses, and laughing - lots!
Hi, I’m Jo - a writer, coach, yoga teacher, mum of three and a new empty nester.
I know what it’s like to prioritise and pour yourself into everyone else, only to reach a moment - often quietly - where you wonder: Now what?!
