There are a handful of books that I just think belong on every woman’s bookshelf, both fiction and non-fiction. They are a combination of warm hugs, pure entertainment and a kick in the butt and all of them have something to say that will inspire, motivate, or simply entertain you for a while. Here they are:

Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austin - this enduring story of love belongs on every woman’s bookshelf and with the feisty Elizabeth Bennett as the heroine it is an early feminist classic.

The Red Tent by Anita Diamant - a brilliant read. I have nothing else to say. Just read it!

The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown - no bookshelf is complete without a Brene Brown book, whichever one you choose there will be something to learn.

13 Things Mentally Strong Women Don’t Do by Amy Morin - this is the go-to book for any woman when she is struggling and needs a reminder of the the core behaviours we all need to cultivate for a happy life.

Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway by Susan Jeffers - a book that has become a mantra for many women.

Wild Power by Alexandra Pope & Sjanie Hugo-Wurlitzer - if you don’t want to hit menopause without a clue about what is happening to you and your body then this book is the perfect starting place to get to grips with your cycle. If we don’t understand our own rhythms as women we will be forever fighting a losing battle with ourself.
