When it comes to wellbeing we can’t rely on one tool only. Yoga is great but it isn’t a miracle cure and we need more than just one thing to support us fully. The same is true of meditation, journaling etc. When we have a variety of tools to use we get the best results.
For me, nature is one of those must-have tools. My family regularly joke that it’s not the dog who needs a daily walk it’s me! And it’s true, i really do need to get outside every day to feel at my best. Recently, I have been attempting to discover my green fingers after years of being a plant-killer and playing in the soil has felt so good - even if I still have a LOT to learn about keeping plants alive!!
As mums, we have the privilege of introducing wellness tools to our children in a way that is fun. Going on long walks, planting seeds, visiting fruit picking farms, etc. all help our children to connect with nature and enjoy the benefits. Studies have shown that children who spend more time in nature tend to be happier and more resilient in the future. If you want some ideas to help you introduce more nature fun into your days then take a look at these seasonal guides full of ideas.
And, if you want to engage more with plant-life then my Herbal Histories Guides are for you.
