Best Writing Books
These are my favourite writing books. Whether you’re looking for inspiration, motivation or tips these are my top recommendations:
Writing Down The Bones by Natalie Goldberg - this book gently but firmly guides you as you find your writing voice and finally say what you want to say without judgement.
Wild Mind by Natalie Goldberg - this is my go-to book when I lose my writing mojo. Full of gentle advice for both life and writing it’s the perfect companion for anyone who wants to find their way (back) to the page.
The Right to Write by Julia Cameron - The Artist’s Way is a book that many women know but I think this is even better as it specifically talks to writers. With lots of great exercises and advice to help you free your voice and get writing this book is a must for anyone wanting to embrace the writing life.
The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron - Okay, I know I just said that ‘The Right to Write’ is much better (and for writers I think it is) BUT if you’re in a creative funk and want to embrace more creativity in all areas of your life (or struggling with depression/motivation) then there is no better book than this to help you reconnect with your true creative self. It’s a bestseller for a reason.
