What does it really take to become a writer?

This is the first Santa Montefiore book I have read, and I will definitely be reading more. Her writing is eloquent, with a lyrical flow that draws you in until you are utterly absorbed by the characters she has created. A romantic story, The French Gardener explores love, passion, and duty, without ever being sickly sweet or overly obvious.
